At sea – A Cory’s Shearwater was seen from the Scillonian III on the return crossing for St. Mary’s to Penzance.
Thursday’s birds were:
St. Martin’s – 2 Cory’s Shearwaters flew past the north side of the island.
At sea – Seen on the short-range pelagic trip in the evening were: a Wilson’s Storm-petrel. 50+ European Storm-petrels, 2 Cory’s Shearwaters, a Great Skua, an Ocean Sunfish, and a Blue Shark was caught, tagged and released.
A Balearic Shearwater, a Sooty Shearwater and a Minke Whale were seen from the Scillonian III on the return crossing for St. Mary’s to Penzance.
There were no reports for Saturday.
Friday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – 5 Greenshanks and a Common Sandpiper were on Porth Hellick Pool.
Sunday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – A Night Heron flew over Porth Hellick Pool towards Holy Vale at 07:45.
At sea – 6 European Storm-petrels were seen from the Scillonian III on the morning crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
Monday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – 5 Greenshanks, Common Sandpiper and the first Water Rail of the “autumn”were on Porth Hellick Pool and another Common Sandpiper was on the beach there.
At sea – The evening short-range pelagic trip produced a Wilson’s Storm-petrel, 25 European Storm-petrels, 2 Blue Sharks, 2 Ocean Sunfish and 12 Common Dolphins.
Tuesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – A Common Sandpiper and 5 Greenshanks were on Porth Hellick Pool.
St. Martin’s – A Sooty Shearwater was offshore.
Wednesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – A Common Sandpiper and a Kingfisher were on Porth Hellick Pool.
Thursday’s birds were:
St. Martin’s – A Great Shearwater and 2 Cory’s Shearwaters flew past the Daymark.
Northern Rocks – 11+ Sooty Shearwaters were in with a flock of 1000 Manx Shearwaters seen from a boat trip.
