Great Northern Divers,The Roads, (Joe Pender)
Sunday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Little Bittern was still in Lower Moors and the Night Heron was seen there in the, flying from Shooters’ Pool towards the Dump Clump. The Western Bonelli’s Warbler was still in the hedge that runs from the Standing Stones Field to the field opposite Nowhere. A Dotterel was still on the Golf Course, a Merlin flew over Hugh Town harbour and a Grasshopper Warbler was trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick. A Golden Oriole was near Porthloo chalets and 11 Common Swifts were over Lower Moors in the evening.
St. Agnes – 4 Dunlins, 2 Turtle Doves, 2 Common Swifts, a Richard’s Pipit, a Ring Ouzel, a late Redwing, 3 Spotted Flycatchers, a Common Redstart, 6 Common Whitethroats and a Siberian Chiffchaff.
Bryher – A Grey Plover, a Nightingale was singing early morning and a Great White Egret flew south at 16:00.
Gugh – A Whinchat.
Tresco – 2 Grey Plovers and 9 Dunlins.
Teän – A Bar-tailed Godwit.
Inter-island Waters – 14 Great Northern Divers were in The Roads (more…)
