Sunday– An Iberian Chiffchaff was on the edge of the “Dump Clump”
Monday – An adult Purple Heron flew over Lower Moors early morning and was seen in flight several times in the afternoon in the Porth Hellick area.
Tuesday – A Little Bittern was flushed from a ditch in Lower Moors early in the morning. The Purple Heron flew over St. Agnes late afternoon before showing well at Porth Hellick in the evening.
Wednesday – St. Mary’s – 2 Purple Herons flew over Lower Moors before settling on Porth Hellick Pool. Birders looking at the herons relocated yesterday’s Little Bittern on the pool. A Sparrowhawk was at Porth Hellick and a Water Rail was at Porthloo.
Bryher – A Stone Curlew (a rare bird on Scilly) was on Shipman Head Down. Also seen were a Great Northern Diver, a Merlin, a White Wagtail and a Willow Warbler.
