The 2 Black-necked Grebes were still in Town Bay until at least Wednesday (08/02) and there was still one on Sunday (12/02). A Great Northern Diver was in Town Bay on Tuesday (07/02) and another was in Porthcressa Bay the same day. On Wednesday (08/02) a Cattle Egret was in a field near the dump on Tresco and also seen on the island was a Firecrest and 2 Short-eared Owls were in the dunes behind Pentle Bay. Also on Wednesday on St. Mary’s a juvenile Glaucous Gull was on Newford Island, Porthloo, the Cetti’s Warbler was still on the Porth Hellick Loop Trail and a Great Spotted Woodpecker was near Shooters’ Pool, Lower Moors. On Thursday (09/02) 3 Mediterranean Gulls were at Porthloo, on Saturday (11/02) a juvenile Glaucous Gull was still at Porthloo and on Sunday (12/02) a juvenile Glaucous Gull was feeding in the surf at Watermill.
