Thursday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Red-backed Shrike, 2 Wrynecks, the Common Rosefinch and the Lapland Bunting were all still on Peninnis. The Black-necked Grebe was in Porthcressa Bay and a Sparrowhawk was at Pelistry.
St. Agnes – The Lesser Yellowlegs, a Melodious Warbler, a Wryneck and a Lapland Bunting.
St. Martin’s -10 Brent Geese, 2 Wrynecks and an Ortolan Bunting.
Bryher – A Lapland Bunting.
At sea – The evening pelagic trip was fairly quiet but still produced a Great Shearwater, 10 European Storm-petrels, 2 Blue and 2 Porbeagle Sharks were caught, tagged and released. Porbeagle Sharks are quiet scarce in Scillonian waters, so catch 2 in one evening is unusual.
