Monday 27th and Tuesday 28th July 2015 IoS Bird Sightings

Mondays birds were:

St. Mary’s – An adult Mediterranean Gull was at Porthloo and 3 juveniles were in Porthcressa Bay. 2 Green Sandpipers, 5 Greenshank and an early returning Sand Martin were at Porth Hellick Pool,

Tuesday’s birds were:

Tresco – 7 Little Egrets, 2 Redshanks and a Greenshank.

Inter-island waters – 200+ Manx and 2 Balearic Shearwaters were in St. Mary’s Sound.

At sea – A short-range pelagic trip produced 100+ European Storm-petrels, 2 Sooty Shearwaters, 10 Great Skuas, 20+ Common Dolphins and a Sunfish.
