The Great Blue Heron did a tour various locations on Tresco then Bryher, Back to Tresco, then to St. Mary’s – Lower Moors – Old Town Bay finally flying off at dusk towards the Dump Clump.
The rest of Tuesday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – A Pied Flycatcher & a Merlin were at Carreg Dhu, a Garden Warbler was on the Garrison, the Long-tailed Duck was still in Hugh Town Harbour, a Wood Sandpiper was at Porth Hellick Pool, a Cuckoo was at Trenoweth and 3 Night Herons flew from Porthloo towards Lower Moors at dusk.
Tresco –The Black Duck was still on Abbey Pool and a Bee-eater flew over. A Night Heron was on the north side of the Great Pool.
Bryher – A Wryneck, a Garden Warbler, a Common Redstart and a Pied Flycatcher. A Bee-eater (probably the bird seen earlier on Tresco) flew over Samson Hill.
St. Agnes – A Ring-billed Gull, 10 Whimbrels, a Skylark, a Black Redstart and a Common Whitethroat.
St. Martin’s – A female Hen Harrier and a Garden Warbler
