Tuesday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – the Garganey was still at Porth Hellick and the Long-tailed Duck was in Porthcressa Bay. 8 Ring Ouzels were seen in the Trewince / Golf Course area, with another 5 on the Garrison and 1 at Longstones. A Hoopoe was on the Garrison and an Osprey was around Porth Hellick on several occasions. 2 Wrynecks were at Bant’s Carn and 1 Night Heron was seen at dusk at Lower Moors.

Bryher – 8 Ring Ouzels seen, including 5 males on Shipmean Head Down. The Long-eared Owl was still present.

St. Agnes – a Hoopoe and 15 Ring Ouzels.

Wednesdays Birds were:

St. Mary’s – the Garganey was still at Porth Hellick and the Long-tailed Duck had moved to the Harbour. The Hoopoe was still on the Garrison along with a male Common Redstart and the Osprey was flying around Porth Hellick and also Newford Duck Pond. Wrynecks were seen at Bant’s Carn, Peninnis and the Garrison and a Serin was heard flying over near Trewince. 5 Ring Ouzels were near the Golf Couse and 3 on Peninnis where a Little Ringed Plover was heard flying over. A Night Heron was seen flying over Lower Moors at dusk.

Tresco – the Black Duck was seen again on Abbey Pool and an Osprey flew over the Great Pool several times. A Ruff was on the Great Pool and a male Common Redstart nearby. A Wryneck was at Racket Town and a Mistle Thrush by Abbey Drive.

St. Agnes – a big fall included 100+ Wheatears, 1/2 Hoopoes, a Wryneck, Tree Pipit, 7 Ring Ouzels, 5 Fieldfares, 2 Common Redstarts, a Black Redstart, a Yellow Wagtail and good numbers of Willow Warblers. A Green Sandpiper was also seen.

St. Martin’s – a Hoopoe, a Dotterel near Little Arthur Farm and 15+ Ring Ouzels.

Thursday’s birds were:

St. Mary’s – a total of 7 Hoopoes were reported – 4 at Peninnis, 2 on the Garrison and 1 at Trewince. 7 Ring Ouzels were near the Golf Course / Trewince area and 2 on the Garrison. The Osprey was seen over Pelistry and Yellow Wagtail was reported from the Garrison and 5 White Wagtails at Porthloo.

Tresco – Pied Flycatcher and Ring Ouzel were reported.

St. Agnes – 3 Hoopoes, 2 Blue-headed Wagtails, a Tree Pipit and a Nightingale were seen. The Night Heron was seen again at dusk at Porth Killier.

Bryher – a dead Night Heron was found.

St. Martin’s – A Dotterel was at the Daymark and 6 Great Northern Divers were around the island.

Tean – an Osprey was seen over the island.
