Monday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The male Eastern Black Redstart was relocated at Shark’s Pit, where it remained all day showing very well, also there were a Late Common Sandpiper, a Kingfisher and a Grey Wagtail. 2 very late Swallows and a Firecrest were near the hospital
Tuesday’s birds were :
St. Mary’s – The Eastern Black Redstart & the Common Sandpiper were still at Shark’s Pit and a Swallow was on wires in Old Town.
Wednesday’s birds were :
St. Mary’s – The Eastern Black Redstart made a brief trip to the Old Quay in the harbour before returning to at Shark’s Pit. 5 Black Redstarts and a Grey Wagtail were at Little Porth.
Thursday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Eastern Black Redstart was still at Shark’s Pit were there were also 4 “normal” Black Redstarts with further singles at Porthloo and Porth Mellon. A Firecrest and a Swallow were in Lower Moors. A Night Heron flew over Longstone at 23:55.
Friday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Eastern Black Redstart was still at Shark’s Pit and 5 Black Redstarts were at Little Porth. With these birds and those in the Porthloo/Porth Mellon area there must be 10+ on the island.
Saturday’s birds were:
St. Mary’s – The Eastern Black Redstart was still at Shark’s Pit and a Yellow-browed Warbler was at Rocky Hills.
Tresco – A Long-tailed Duck was in New Grimsby Harbour.
Bryher – 3 Long-eared Owls were in a roost at Vine Farm.
The only bird reported on Sunday was the Eastern Black Redstart at Shark’s Pit, St. Mary’s
