St. Mary’s – 11 Greenshanks, 2 Green Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper, a Water Rail and 2 Common Whitethroats were at Porth Hellick. St. Agnes – 3 Sanderlings, 5 Redshanks and a Ruff

The condition of the IOSBG hide in Lower Moors has been deteriorating for several years. Damage caused by last winter’s storms made it almost unusable so the IOSBG decided it was time for major repairs. Lots of the panelling, the door and the roof felt have been replaced. The screening Read more…

Pelagic trip – The highlights of the daytime birder special were : a Wilson’s Storm Petrel, 15 European Storm Petrels, 13 Cory’s, 5 Great & 2 Balearic Shearwaters, an Arctic & 2 Great Skuas, 3 Common Scoters, a Sunfish, 2 Blue Sharks, 4 Harbour Porpoise and 20 Common Dolphins
Scillonian – A Sabine’s Gull, a Sooty Shearwater and 3 European Storm-petrels were seen on the crossing from Penzance to St. Mary’s.
