Snow Bunting (J.Pender)

GREY-CHEEKED THRUSH – It ranged from Old Town Churchyard and up the hill towards the Health Centre. It showed much better than yesterday and many birders connected with it, but it was still a case of being in the right place at the right time.

SORA RAIL – 1 still on the Great Pool, Tresco.

Purple Heron – 1 flew over Peninnis towards Lower Moors at 09:30 and was not seen subsequently.

Short-toed Lark – 1 still on St. Agnes.

Rose-coloured Starling – 1 on St. Agnes.

Corncrake – 1 was flushed from the iris field opposite Porthloo Duck Pond.

Red-breasted Flycatcher –1 Watermill.

Red-necked Grebe -1 off Higher Town, St. Martin’s.

Wryneck – 1 on St. Agnes.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 12 on St. Mary’s,1 on Bryher, 1 on Tresco, 1 on St. Agnes and 2 on St. Martin’s.

Firecrest – 1 Newford Duck Pond, 1 Porth Hellick, 1 St. Martin’s and 2 St. Agnes.

Lapland Bunting – 2 on Peninnis and 1 on Bryher.

Snow Bunting – 1 on Peninnis and 1 on St. Martin’s.

Garganey – 1 still on Tresco

Yellow-legged Gull – An adult on the Eastern Isles.

Merlin – 1 Peninnis and 1 Bryher.

Jack Snipe – 6 Lower Moors, 3 Porth Hellick, 2 St. Agnes and 1 Tresco.

Common Scoter – 18 in The Roads.

Little Stint – 1 on Bryher.

Woodcock – 1 Peninnis.

Black-tailed Godwit – 1 Tresco.

Whimbrel – 3 Peninnis, 1 Porthloo, 1 Old Town and 2 Bryher.

Common Sandpiper – 1 on Tresco.

Grey Phalarope – 1 on a pelagic trip.

Great Skua – 5 on a pelagic trip and 1 past Peninnis.

Mediterranean Gull – 1 Porthloo and 1 on a pelagic trip.

Turtle Dove – 1 on St. Martin’s.

Short-eared Owl – 1 on Annet.

Kingfisher – 1 Lower Moors, 1 Porthloo and 1 Porth Hellick.

Common Redstart – 1 Porth Hellick and 1 Old Town Churchyard.

Black Redstart – 1 Old Town and 1 Bryher.

Whinchat – 1 Tresco and 1 Bryher.

Ring Ouzel – 1 on St. Martin’s.

Mistle Thrush – 1 Newford Duck Pond and 1 on Tresco.

Lesser Whitethroat – 1 near the school and 1 on St. Agnes.

Wood Warbler – 1 in Old Town Churchyard.

Pied Flycatcher – 1 on St. Agnes and 1 St. Martin’s.

Brambling – 2 on Tresco.

Reed Bunting – 1 at Porth Hellick.
