St. Mary’s – The Buff-breasted Sandpiper was still on the airfield, the Icterine Warbler was still on The Garrison and the Lapland Bunting was still on Peninnis. A Common Sandpiper and a Grey Plover were at Carn Leah.
At sea – An evening pelagic trip produced 12 Great & 25 Sooty Shearwaters, 40 European Storm-petrels, a Great & an Arctic Skua and 6 adult Sabine’s Gulls. Also seen were 50 Common Dolphins and 6 Blue Sharks were caught tagged and released. This brings the season’s total to 105 sharks (104 Blue and 1 Porbeagle) that have been tagged. This is more than twice the previous yearly total for tagging on the Sapphire.
