A short trip to the far side of Annet to look for a putative Albatross (reported by a local boatman) proved unsuccessful. However there was compensation in the shape of 500+ Manx Shearwaters, a Balearic Shearwater, a Sooty Shearwater and 2 Great Shearwaters ½ mile northwest of Annet.
The Balearic Shearwater was the one seen last Sunday with the geolocator on its leg, Research has revealed that it is this year’s bird ringed at the nest in Majorca
