Sunday 28th July 2013 IoS Bird Sightings

Tresco – A Ruddy Shelduck, a Green Sandpiper, 10 Common Sandpipers, and 4 Common Swifts.

At sea – 2 Balearic Shearwaters were near Steeple Rock west of Samson. Birds seen from a short-range pelagic trip 6 miles southeast of St. Mary’s included 2 Balearic Shearwaters (1 with a metal ring on the left leg and a geolocator on the right leg), 20 European Storm-petrels, a Great Skua, 2 Ocean Sunfish and 4 Blue Sharks.
