St. Mary’s – The Iberian Chiffchaff was still in Lower Moors and a Western Subalpine Warbler was along the Track behind Carn Vean Tea Rooms. A cracking summer-plumaged Bar-tailed Godwit and 4 Whimbrels were on Porthloo Beach. The first Lesser Whitethroat of the year was at Higher Moors and a Hooded Crow flew over Peninnis.
St. Martin’s – A female Red-footed Falcon showed very well in the sheep fields along the central road near Middle Town. This was only the 7th record for Scilly and the first since 1995. 2 Golden Oriolesflew from the pines at Middle Town in to the gorse on The Plains.
