Highlights from Wednesdays Bird Log include:

Hume’s Leaf Warbler – 1 still in the dump clump

Solitary Sandpiper – 1 still on the muddy pool in a field on Old Town Lane.

Ring-necked Duck – The first-winter male and 2 females were still on Porth Hellick Pool.

Richard’s Pipit – 1 on St. Agnes.

Coal Tit – 2 on Bryher and 2 on St. Mary’s.

Yellow-browed Warbler – 1 in the Dump Clump,1 Higher Moors, 1 Lower Moors 2 on St. Agnes.

Barred Warbler – 1 in a field at Browarth, St. Agnes

Red-breasted Flycatcher – 1 in Old Town Churchyard.

Whooper Swan – 6 on still the Great Pool, Tresco.

Pale-bellied Brent Goose – 1 in Porthcressa Bay and then flew to Pentle Bay, Tresco.

Sooty Shearwater – 3 past Peninnis, 2 past St. Martin’s and 1 in The Roads.

Balearic Shearwater – 1 past Porth Hellick Down, 1 past Peninnis and 1 near Gull Rock.

Little Egret – 18 in Tresco Channel.

Merlin – 1 on St. Mary’s.

Golden Plover – 20 on the airfield and 12 south over Peninnis.

Jack Snipe – 1 in Lower Moors.

Woodcock – The first of the autumn was 1 at Maypole.

Grey Phalarope – 3 in The Roads.

Great Skua – 1 flew past Peninnis and 1 past St. Martin’s..

Mediterranean Gull – A second -winter bird was at Porthloo.

Great Spotted Woodpecker – 1 was excavating a hols in Pines near Porth Hellick house, 1 was on the Garrison and 1 was heard at Bar Point.

Whinchat – 1 Watermill.

Ring Ouzel – 1 Deep Point.

Firecrest – 1 Holy Vale.

Spotted flycatcher – 1 on the Garrison.

Pied flycatcher – 1 on St. Agnes.

Siskin – 2 Trenoweth.

Lesser Redpoll – 1 in the Dump Clump.

Snow Bunting – 1 at Morning Point, Garrison.
