St. Mary’s – A Quail at Porth Hellick and a Cuckoo at Lower Moors
St. Mary’s – A Quail at Porth Hellick and a Cuckoo at Lower Moors
Tresco – A ring-tail Harrier probably Montagu’s and a Common Buzzard. At sea – A quiet short-range pelagic trip logged only a Sooty Shearwater, 10 European Storm-petrels and an Ocean Sunfish
St. Mary’s – The Eider was still at Pendrethen and a Grasshopper Warbler was reeling near Carn Vean tea rooms. At sea – A fishing trip to Poll Bank produced 2 Great Skuas, 20 European Storm-petrels, 10 Manx Shearwaters and a probable “Baltic Gull“.
St. Mary’s – A male Red-backed Shrike was trapped and ringed at Porth Hellick. A Hobby flew over Star Castle, the Eider was still at Pendrethen and a Lesser Redpoll was near the pumping station at Higher Moors.

St. Mary’s – A Serin flew over Star Castle and a Golden Oriole was in Lower Moors. At sea – A short-range pelagic trip produced a Pomarine Skua, a Great Skua and 30+ European Storm-petrels
St. Mary’s – The Eider was still at Pendrethen, a White Wagtail was at Higher Moors, a Cuckoo was at Deep Point and 2 Turtle Doves and a Rook were at Lunnon
St. Mary’s – A Lesser Redpoll was at Borough Farm, 4 Swifts were over Salakee and the Eider was off Bar Point. Tresco – Swift numbers are still well above average with 7 on the island. At sea – An evening pelagic trip produced a Pomarine Skua, 3 Read more…
