St. Mary’s – An unprecedented 3 Dusky Warblers on the island, 2 in Lower Moors and 1 at Porth Hellick, which was caught and ringed. Other birds at Lower Moors were 2 Yellow-browed Warblers, the Wilson’s Snipe, a very late Willow Warbler, a female Brambling and a Bullfinch, a real Scilly rarity! Also at Porth Hellick were 5 Firecrests, 2 Siberian Chiffchaffs and a Yellow-browed Warbler. A cracking male Black Redstart was on Hugh Town quay and the first-winter male Eider was still in the harbour. A further 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were in bushes by Newford Duck Pond and 2 Pink-footed Geese flew over Pelistry.
