St Mary’s – Whimbrel (5) at Pendrathen and Sandwich Tern at Porthloo. Elsewhere, a Red-breasted Merganser and two Whimbrel were on Tean. A Whimbrel was on Samson and two Ravens were on St Helen’s. Monthly Bird Review – December 2009
Lingering rarities from November included the Green-winged Teal at Porth Hellick Pool and the Sabines gull at Little Porth. The Black-necked Grebe and Long-tailed Duck were still at Tresco on the 1st and a Firecrest was at Porth Hellick Loop on the 3rd. (more…)

The Olive-backed Pipit remained at Sunnyside trail on the 1st of the month and the Bluethroat was reported from the Rosehill end of the Lower Moors trail. Yellow-browed warblers were at Porth Hellick Loop and Shooters Pool and the Siberian Chiffchaff was at Higher Moors. (more…)
