St. Mary’s – A Kestrel on the Garrison, 10+ Swallows at Porth Mellon and at Porth Hellick 17 Sand Martin, 16 Swallow, a Willow Warbler, 2 Greenshank, 4 Snipe, Green Sandpiper & a White Wagtail.

St Mary’s – Whimbrel (5) at Pendrathen and Sandwich Tern at Porthloo. Elsewhere, a Red-breasted Merganser and two Whimbrel were on Tean. A Whimbrel was on Samson and two Ravens were on St Helen’s. Tresco – *BLACK DUCK* again this afternoon on Abbey Pool.
A quiet start to the month with the first report recieved on the 7th when the Gyr was seen again on Tresco. The first Wheatear of the year was also seen on Tresco the same day. (more…)
A very quiet month as expected with few reports. The first day of the month saw Slavonian Grebe, Black-troated Diver and thirteen Bar-tailed Godwits around St Martin’s. (more…)
The first day of the New Year saw the Black-necked Grebe on the Bryher side of Tresco Channel and the Black Duck was again seen on the Abbey Pool. (more…)
St Mary’s – PURPLE HERON (ad) again at Lower Moors this afternoon.
Lingering rarities from November included the Green-winged Teal at Porth Hellick Pool and the Sabines gull at Little Porth. The Black-necked Grebe and Long-tailed Duck were still at Tresco on the 1st and a Firecrest was at Porth Hellick Loop on the 3rd. (more…)
The Olive-backed Pipit remained at Sunnyside trail on the 1st of the month and the Bluethroat was reported from the Rosehill end of the Lower Moors trail. Yellow-browed warblers were at Porth Hellick Loop and Shooters Pool and the Siberian Chiffchaff was at Higher Moors. (more…)
