St Mary’s – PURPLE HERON briefly this morning over Porth Hellick
Tresco – Short-eared Owl over Tresco today. Pochard (drk) on Abbey Pool and one on Great Pool. Black-throated and Great-northern Divers South of Tresco. Also drake Pintail in Pentle Bay, 9 Swallow and a Sand Martin over Abbey Pool St Mary’s – House Martin at Porth Hellick today.
St Mary’s – Spoonbill flew over Carn Friars into Holy Vale at dusk. Willow Warbler at Porth Hellick and Black Redstart (2) still at Porthloo. The first Puffin of the year was seen two miles east of St Mary’s this afternoon St Martin’s – Cuckoo today near Middle Town and Read more…

Samson – Spoonbill this morning flew towards Bryher Tresco – Black Duck still on Abbey Pool this afternoon 15.30 ( 2 Pochard flew from Abbey to Great Pool this morning ) Bullfinch at entrance to Abbey Gardens. The ISBG website (in it’s current format) has been up and running for just over a year now and despite having a poor Autumn birding season the site still managed to attract 9,741 visitors from 84 different countries! The highest daily count of visitors to the site occured on 2nd Read more…
The Gyr was seen again on Tresco on 7th March and there was also the first Wheatear of the year there. A Spoonbill was on Bryher on the 8th. There are currently up 10 Firecrests on St. Agnes.
